Chronic abseentism is a big problem at Kalihi Elementary School, with 30% of the schoolʻs students missing more than 15 days in a school year. To tackle this problem, weʻre launching Kalihi Valley Scholars, an incentive program to encourage our valley kids to come to school. On Fridays, students who improve their absences will receive a Golden Ticket, which they can redeem for an item from the Afternoon Snack menu at Kalihi Valley Station (shave ice, a Glacier, a spam musubi, or a cookie). And all profits from your purchases will go to support Kalihi Valley Scholars.
